We are passionate about changing the world with science and software, and we are looking for exceptional people to join us in that mission.  The Field Engineering team is responsible for providing ongoing hardware consultation support to our customers and partners. FEs are responsible for deploying new products, monitoring HW performance and providing on-site support to address emerging hardware issues. 

What you'll do

  • As a project lead, manage and supervise contractors who work on the builds internally or at customer sites for new deployments.
  • Manage all on site equipment installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Assist in the preparation of new sites and deployments
  • Work closely with production to prepare for the pre-shipment and installation checklists 
  • Main contact for field technical issues
  • Generate Maintenance and Repair procedures and schedules and repair manuals for newly  installed equipment and robotics lines
  • Provide support to on-site technicians during PM calls
  • Provide initial diagnostic and troubleshooting of field issues remotely based on information provided by on-site technicians
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Diagnose errors,  technical problems, design flaws and provide recommendations for design improvement
  • Work with production and supply chain on Spares list and inventory control
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Run CMMS as an Administrator, control and guide technicians on using CMMS
  • Document processes
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
  • Provision and commission robots and PLC as part of the line bringup

What you have

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Two plus years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and general construction blueprints and schematics 
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatics
  • Demonstrable understanding of scripting language such as Ruby, Python, or Bash

  • Ability to lead teams of technicians up to 10 people during deployments
  • Great communication skills to work with customers
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
  • Collaboration skills to work with any team
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day
  • Ability to work extended  shift and to adapt to changing work schedules
  • Ability to travel out of state, up to two weeks (up to 50% of time)
